Oil Palm Plantation: Myanmar

A Management Project by AgriNexus International Since 2014

Since 2014, AgriNexus has been actively engaged in several plantation management projects in Myanmar. AgriNexus stepped-up direct involvement in the industry in 2014 by taking over full management of an Oil Palm Plantation Project in Tanintharyi, Myanmar.

Highly suitable weather conditions and soil structure as well as the location of newly built ASEAN Highway along the Project Site has benefited the Project site immensely strategically in terms of connectivity to neighboring Townships and the Port.

Landbank Status

In 2018, the Plantation land bank was expanded by 3,000 acres to 4,500 acres. The larger land bank has provided economies of scale by turning the project into a large-scale Oil Palm Development Project and raising the viability of constructing a Mill for CPO production.

Operations in the Plantation

AgriNexus committed to lift the operations standards of the Project Site to International Standards. Large-scale rehabilitation works were carried out upon Management take-over from a structural perspective to standard operating procedures. Scheduled visits by our experts to ensure optimum productivity and efficient operations has resulted in the Project Site being viewed as an exemplary model for neighbouring plantations to emulate.

Positive Socio-Economic Impact

AgriNexus also actively participates in improving the living conditions of the Staff and Workers in the Plantation by introducing new infrastructure, buildings and communal activities such as sponsorship of activities during festive seasons. The provision of proper living standards for Staff and Workers is an integral part of AgriNexus’ BOP.
