With over four decades of expertise in plantation management and large-scale agricultural development, Mr Vijayakumar has held senior leadership roles across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Nigeria, overseeing vast Oil Palm operations.

His career includes senior positions with major plantation conglomerates, managing landbanks of up to 50,000 hectares. Notably, he led the management of two major estates covering 30,000 and 10,000 hectares, respectively, in West Kalimantan, and successfully developed operational strategies for over 35,000 hectares across Sabah, Sarawak, and East Kalimantan. Additionally, he spearheaded learning and development initiatives across plantation, milling, and administration, supporting a workforce of approximately 7,500 employees across a 70,000-hectare landbank.

A strategic and results-oriented leader, he has overseen all aspects of plantation operations, including finance, accounting, taxation, legal affairs, HR, corporate social responsibility (CSR), internal audits, and smallholder schemes.

His dedication to knowledge transfer is evident in his commitment to technical training, ensuring the implementation of best agronomic and management practices at every level.

Currently serving as General Manager, he leads the field, administrative, and milling operations of a 5,600-hectare producing Oil Palm plantation in Nigeria and is armed with a Diploma in Agriculture A.I.S.P. (Associate of the Incorporated Society of Planters).

Mr. Vijay is not only a skilled trainer but also an inspiring motivational leader. His “take ownership” motto serves as a guiding principle, instilling a strong sense of responsibility, accountability and initiative among those he leads.
