An accomplished plantation leader with over 40 years of diverse experience across Malaysia, Africa, and Southeast Asia, Mr Arun has played a critical role in the transformation of raw landscapes into thriving agricultural ventures.
He spearheaded large-scale plantation projects in the Republic of Congo as Head of Plantation at Atama Plantations, overseeing the development of more than 1,000 hectares of Oil Palm, the establishment of a 35-hectare nursery housing half a million seedlings, and the successful training of local labour forces in modern agricultural and operational practices.
In addition, he has considerable experience in Nigeria where he was involved in overseeing the Nursery and Planting operations and providing hands-on training on best plantation and agronomic management practices. He also leads the annual internal audit visits to Agrinexus’ plantation projects, ensuring compliance with operational standards and continuous improvement across plantations.
At Sime Darby, Mr Arun played a key role in the pioneering of an enterprise-wide SAP-integrated system for plantation management. His hands-on supervision ensured the successful rollout of this online system across all estates and mills, streamlining operations and data accuracy.
Spanning over three decades at Guthrie, he rose through the ranks in plantation operations, gaining in-depth, on-the-ground expertise in managing Rubber, Cocoa, and Oil Palm cultivation across varied terrains and climates.
He holds an ACCA qualification and has completed a Tropical Agriculture Course, equipping him with a strong foundation in plantation management and agro-industrial practices.
